Nissan Murano SUV, class "K3" with front-or all-wheel drive. The third-generation facelift version premiered at the Los Angeles Auto Show in the fall of 2018.

Beautiful, comfortable, its reliability is time-tested, and it "follows the fashion" and regularly changes in accordance with new trends in the global automotive industry. This is all about the model, which is rightfully considered the flagship of the Nissan line.

The newborn, whose appearance was dated to 2002, was initially focused on the American market, where, in fact, the model was developed. But for sure, the headquarters of the Japanese company already saw much broader prospects for this car. The Nissan crossover was built on the FF-LB platform, the 245‑horsepower 3.5‑liter VQ35DE engine was chosen as the power unit, the design of the car was brutal, but it was not without elegant lines.

The engine is paired with an equally reliable Xtronic variator, the algorithm of which optimally matches the characteristics of the motor. Moreover, its engine is very unpretentious to the quality of fuel and, if necessary, can consume AI-92 gasoline. This, of course, is not a guide to action, but nevertheless... Among other things, Murano has excellent off-road potential.

The updated version of the third generation Murano got a small change in appearance:

  • a new front bumper with a black insert in the center and a different design of the fog sections,
  • the radiator grille is made in the form of a honeycomb,
  • a different design of disks

  • fully LED optics are already available in the database.

But the interior was limited to only a small change in the cup holder section on the center console, the expansion of the multimedia system functions (CarPlay system from Apple and Andriod on the car by default) and finishing with expensive semi-aniline leather with perforation for the top Platinum configuration.

In terms of safety, the Nissan Murano has made significant progress. Ten airbags in the base, including now the second-row side airbags and the front passenger's knee airbag, emergency braking, marking tracking, blind spot monitoring and much more. Yes, much of the above was available before, but all systems have been upgraded, which eventually made them more efficient.

The driving force is still the well-known duo-the 3.5-liter VQ35DE atmospheric engine (260 hp 325 Nm)and the Jatco continuously variable CVT. All-wheel drive implemented with a clutch-an option available for any of the trim levels, initially all Muransky front-wheel drive.

There is little demand for this car due to the price of the car. But it could not be otherwise — most of the components, including engines and transmissions, for the Nissan Murano are supplied from abroad.

To some extent, the localization of the production of components could help, but this solution is more suitable for mass-market vehicles. No matter how hard marketers and managers responsible for production try, it will not be possible to ensure a serious load of supplier enterprises with the production of components for a premium car segment. After all, this is a car for those who understand.
