It can rightly be considered a somewhat belated replacement for the popular Grand Santa Fe of the previous generation.
The car premiered at the Los Angeles Auto Show in late fall 2018.
As befits the flagship of the brand, the appearance of the Palisade stands out from the general model line. The massive and wide hood of the radiator grille made of solid chrome mesh gives the car prestige, and the aggressive squint of the optics divided into two blocks even inspire a sense of some superiority. The stern of the car at the same time has an equally solid appearance. In length, the palisade reaches almost five meters (4980 mm) and about two meters wide (1975 mm), while the wheelbase is 2900 mm. Thanks to this size, the car has a seating formula of 5+3, which means comfortable accommodation for eight passengers with all their luggage, because the trunk volume, even in this position, is 510 liters.
It's funny that the car, already having an outstanding size, looks larger than it actually is. In length, the car exceeds the legendary Land Cruiser 200 and is slightly inferior to the Mazda CX-9, although it looks much more solid than the latter. The signature octagonal radiator grille, outlined at the edges by a wide shiny overlay, together with the massive, two-story, vertical running lights looks like a single sculptural composition. The rear lights, "edged" with chrome moldings, also received a vertical solution.
Hyundai can be congratulated — the flagship Palisade has completed the construction of a model range in our country. Today, the Korean manufacturer has one of the most complete lines of cars on the Russian market.
Two years after the debut in Los Angeles, the Palisade-the largest full-size SUV ever produced by Hyundai-has reached Russia. It can rightly be considered a somewhat belated replacement for the popular Grand Santa Fe of the previous generation.

There is enough chrome — a shiny line flows along the upper and lower edges of the side windows. Interestingly, these elements do not make the body unnecessarily pretentious, but add to the appearance of impetuosity and its opposite — sedateness.
Getting inside, the first feeling is that the car is premium. The horizontal architecture makes the already rather large interior look wider. Modern interior solutions are concise and do not bother with unnecessary details. The center console is "floating", that is, there is a lot of space under it and a tray at the bottom, the idea immediately comes — for newspapers.
True, who is now in the car reading newspapers in the presence of countless devices for interteymenta. The 10.25 "central display is embedded in the plate that "licks" the dashboard from above, visually it is one with it. Only the initial version of Lifestyle is equipped with an eight-inch screen.
Although on the bridge, the owner is usually one, and in the crossover cabin there are two separate seats, and they reduce the passenger capacity to seven people, but at the same time open the passage to the third row in the middle of the improvised "living room". Representatives of the company think to extend this option to other configurations. With separate seats or with a solid sofa in the second row, there is plenty of space, even the third row offers some comfort for children or completely "oversized" passengers. However, the volume of the luggage compartment, if you take 7 or 8 people on board, will be 311 liters.
With a car length of 4980 mm, a base of 2900 mm and a maximum ground clearance of 203 mm, there is a risk of losing the front bumper with a low lip if you get into a real fight. But Palisade does not need this-it is a hero of long distances, large companies and easily crossed terrain, here it will provide its riders with the highest level of comfort.
