How important an event for Audi is the launch of the production version of the e-tron GT, you can judge by the scale of the presentation of the electric car.

Not to mention the fact that the co-host of the presentation was Nico Rosberg, and the German Allianz Arena for a while served as a huge advertising banner for the new Audi

A lot of attention in the presentation of the electric car was allocated to the emphasis on the" purity " of the electric traction without the need to sacrifice dynamic performance, and also-the amount of recycled and recyclable materials used in the e-tron GT. Also during the presentation, it was said that until 2025, the Audi model range will consist of 30 electrified models, and 20 of them will use exclusively electric traction.

If we discard all the formalities that accompany the show of the new model, it is worth noting that for Audi, the launch of the e-tron GT is really a big step: the previous electric cars of the brand are a compromise – they are based on the MLB Evo platform designed for several types of traction. The Audi e-tron GT is built on the J1 platform, which it shares with the Porsche Taycan-a platform for electric cars.

The sedan – dubbed the "high-performance Gran Turismo" - measures 4.99 m long, 1.96 m wide and 1.41 m high. That is, it is longer than the already mentioned Porsche Taycan (4.96 m), but shorter than the Audi RS 7 Sportback (5.01 m). As befits an electric car, its appearance was directly affected by the need to reduce the drag coefficient – here it was possible to achieve an indicator of 0.24 (the same as that of the Tesla Model S before the restyling).

The presentation showed a more productive version of the electric car-RS e-tron GT. It differs from the basic version (the full name of which is e – tron GT quattro) in both appearance, equipment and price, but now we will not talk about this. The main thing is that both versions are equipped with the same 800-volt battery with a capacity of 93 kWh (85 kWh is used), and for less productive ones, the claimed mileage on a single charge - according to the WLTP cycle-is up to 487 km.

According to the same principle, the RS e-tron GT can reach 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds: 598 forces and 830 Nm in the basic mode and 646 hp (at the same 830 Nm) – with launch suntrol. The maximum speed of the more productive version is 250 km/h. By the way, these indicators make the RS e-tron GT the most powerful car in the Audi line. But this is still not enough to compete with the Taycan Turbo S, which exchanges the first "hundred" for 2.8 s.

The interior of the new electric car did not become a revelation, you can only be surprised at the absence of the already familiar 10-inch display, on which the climate settings are made. In its place, there are quite modest controls for the climate system (three-zone already in the basic version) and air deflectors. Despite so much attention to the "clean" materials used in the salon, the list of available equipment includes not only textiles, artificial leather and microfiber Dinamica, but also natural leather Nappa.

For the e-tron GT quattro, you need to pay at least 99,800 euros, and for the more productive version of the RS – 138,200 euros. For comparison, the prices for the RS 7 Sportback, equipped with a 591 hp petrol V8 and 800 Nm of torque (3.6 s to 100 km / h) in Germany start at 122,500 euros. And the most powerful Porsche Taycan Turbo S (2.8 s to 100 km / h) will cost at least 186,300 euros.
